  • Standards Compliance

Do you wonder if your eLearning modules should comply with SCORM (1.2 or 2004), AICC, or Section 508? Do you feel overwhelmed trying to understand these standards? Do you wonder how you’ll ever implement any of these standards? As a buyer, you don't need to become an expert in eLearning standards.

Lionbridge can help simplify what you need to know in order to get started.

    • Which LMS do you use?
In terms of compatibility and tracking, this question will help you decide which standard to apply, SCORM or AICC. Both of them cover the basics, which is to describe how the LMS and the courses should exchange information to keep track of the learners training progress. SCORM 2004 is the most up-to-date standard and it allows you to define in which order the chapters of the content should appear to the learner.
    • How do you want to structure your content? Answering this question will help you decide where to draw the line between delivering the content in one chunk, or structuring it in chapters to be reused in different courses.
    • Who is your audience? Accessibility, Section 508, and/or W3C standards describe how to develop content to make it accessible to people with disabilities or with vision, hearing, or mobility impairments.
    • What data do you want to track? AICC or SCORM dictate a set of general data to be tracked for training: lesson status, assessment results, lesson progression, etc.

Lionbridge can help you answer these questions and more, and we will develop your eLearning courses accordingly. They will communicate with your LMS, be structured to allow you to reuse them if necessary, and will be accessible to your different audiences.
